If someone turns up at an industry conference in orange shoes, chances are it’s Stefan Kiene – the founder of PLANTLOGIQ. And that’s no accident: like the shoes, PLANTLOGIQ stands for being easy to spot, for the nerve to change things, and for a bit of fresh air in the daily routine of running a plant.
What began as a data-driven idea in boiler construction is today an intelligent platform for condition-based maintenance – built on over 40 years of experience and the conviction that knowledge should be preserved for the next generation.
Stefan and his team have a clear vision: maintenance that works no matter how much experience you bring to it. Software that understands. A system that thinks along with you. That’s what the team works on – every day, in the heart of the Black Forest.

1998
The company is founded
Konstruktionsbüro KIENE is established – the start of working independently
2003
WDM software innovation – Philipp and Stefan
A new company name: KIENE Konstruktion + WDM. Development of WDM software (Wanddickenmessung, wall thickness measurement) built specifically to document wall thicknesses in combustion plants
2021
PLANTLOGIQ Cloud
The company becomes PLANTLOGIQ GmbH. Launch of the PLANTLOGIQ SaaS platform

PLANTLOGIQ Platform & Intelligence
Launch of the AI-powered assistant.
International expansion: partnership with AACLADDINGS to develop the French market
